With majority of television and print media circulating around the negative things happening in our community, locally and nationally, it is crucial that we start to invest more time into our youth whom are dedicated to creating a positive layer and are committed to making a positive impact on the youth.
Michael Daye, a college Sophomore studying Business Management at the California University of Pennsylvania has established a clothing line that is grabbing the attention of Hollywood celebrities, actors and music artists. Daye will graduate from college in 2018. Daye was born and raised in Braddock, and received his High School Diploma from Woodland Hills.
Michael Daye Owner/Creator said, “Growing up I always loved art and creating my own original things that no one else had and when I would go shopping, I would have a hard time finding clothes I liked so I decided to make my own. And “Most Trill Designs” was established in 2014.”
Daye’s designs first started in 2012 as a hobby in his spare time, that later spiraled into a business.
“I am studying Business Management to help me further my knowledge of the business world and to one day make me the world’s next big entrepreneur and have hopes of one day being like P. Diddy, Mark Zuckerberg, or even the Steve Jobs of clothing,” Daye said.
Daye’s clothing line quickly grabbed the attention of many. Much company growth came from the production of T-shirts. Most Trill Designs were in demand.
Daye said, “At first a lot of people just thought that this was going to be a quick hustle, which would fade one day. But then people began to see how serious I was about it, and consistent. Then my designs even started to differ from the older ones and became more advanced, better and more sought after.”
Most Trill Designs got its first Big Break when Bone Thugs and Harmony featured Daye’s clothing line on the Get-Loud Tour. Then a friend of Daye had the clothing line franchised to a member of Mac Miller’s REMember Music Label named Franchise, who agreed to wear the clothing line in music videos. Chicago’s own Montana of 300 endorsed the T-Shirts. Rakim went to Daye’s college to speak to students during an event, and Rakim supported the Most Trill Designs by taking photos with Daye holding a T-shirt. Actor, Eddie DeBruce III was recently found wearing the brand on his way to shoot a fashion segment for Gabriel Brothers at KDKA news. Rapper, Nelly’s nephew agreed to support and wear products from Most Trill Designs and featured the clothing line on BET’s hit show, “Nellyville.”
Daye is currently working on getting Taylor Gang to support the brand.
Daye is receiving support on a local and national level. Daye was sent a picture of his cousin wearing a Most Trill Design T-shirt while at the club, hours before being killed. His cousin’s death, plays a significant role in his dedication and determination to his clothing line. Daye says his cousin’s death is one of his biggest motivators.
He was able to connect with all these notable celebrities through connecting with those through social media, networking, and traveling. Daye has traveled to Miami, Cleveland, Atlanta, Virginia, and New Jersey.
Daye does not personally hand craft the the clothing, but he makes all logos, designs, posters, art, and etc. To connect with Michael Daye on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram: @MTD.co.
Daye said, “Chase your dreams, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. If you want something go after it and always keep faith, even when times are bad and things are rough, keep pushing! If you can make it through the right, there’s a brighter day. Also, don’t be scared to take risk! With high risk, there’s high reward.”
