Fresh. Talented. Interesting. Those are just some of the words that come to mind when I listen to the Connecticut based group, The Voyagers. Their latest visual, “Gnosis”, has a mid 90’s vibe reminiscint of classic material from The Boot Camp Click or The Outsidaz. Lyrically all of the members spit and each have their own distinctive sounds and styles. As I watch them perform I can tell that they are confident in who they are as artists because they look cool while they’re doing their thing. The beat produced by BK Beats is boom bap at its finest with a eeire sounding piano like something Da Gravediggaz would have made. Not to say The Voyagers are intentionally going for a retro sound but I think they just really understand the origins and dynamics on what true hip-hop is. Rugged, raw, yet still relaxing I see really big things from the group in the near future. Get hip and don’t say you weren’t informed about The Voyagers.
