After much anticipation from the core fans of Epic Record’s group MDMA, Rocky Diamonds has released his first free album titled Influenced. The 11 song layout showed little to no versatility for the majority of the project, but deeply explains his day in and day out trap-a-holic lifestyle. The Minnesota rapper expresses the thrill of codeine filled nights with exceptional women and his acceptable n*****. Unfortunately, Rocky’s lean-induced/ monotone flow left little to get excited about yet gave a smooth head nod to trap music’s usual sporadic mood.

The mixtape’s Intro is a hard knocker with tasteful lyrics that complement’s the beat produced by 1Bounce , as well as the ratifying verse laced by Spenzo. This song speaks proudly about doing your own thing against adversity and everyday living in the urban neighborhoods of Minnesota.

On this project there are peaks and valleys, of those peaks are songs like; Do You Like Drugs and the notably mastered Fuck On. The groovy instrumental accented by Miguel’s soft and elegant sample, provided the flow of Rocky’s goonish persona as a acceptable platform. More bright decisions were made in this project like including Canadian singer/song-writer Tory Lanez.  Whose vocals bolstered the contents of Fuck on, also blending well with the energetic background that carried this short song to it’s successful head nod from his targeted audience.

Other tracks were more of a miss than a hit for Diamond’s returning fans throughout Influenced. With Rocky’s matter-of-fact rapping style the Epic Records signee fails to show many signs of versatility. Throughout the project he discusses selling narcotics, staying strapped and being a recruiter of ladies, which easily bored most listeners. Songs like Hood love, WeedMoneyPussyLean, Thank Me, and Drank Problems had catchy chants but didn’t add much to make this mixtape a major splash.

Fortunately production of Not To Many I Trust was insanely good with snippets of Tupac’s epiphany in the classic movie Juice while complimenting a phenomenal sample of Schoolboy Q’s Blessed that executed and expressed the songs true essence. Stay Hiii’s track in entirety is a slapper which, is arguably the best track on the entire mixtape.

Overall: The engineering on this project totally makes this mixtape worth recommending for a honorable download regardless of speculation on previously discussed tracks. Influenced is a well laid-out project stemming from the recent signing with LA Reid to Epic Records. Thumbs up for Rocky Diamonds, MDMA group, and production team.
