After going on for seventeen minutes about Jay Z, you have to really pay attention to Legendary DJ Funk Flex. The Hot97 DJ had some choice words about Jay Z’s Life + Times website and going even deeper, he talks about a specific text message he got from a private number (presumed to be Jay Z).
Rumors had surfaced that the Roc Nation head honcho was going to buy the HOT97 radio station, what maybe had been an attempt to shut down DJ Funk Flex. Hot 97’s personalities Ebro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez had fun with the rumor and renamed the station Hov 97 on Tuesday.
Emmis Communications, owner of WQHT Hot 97, debunks the rumor by telling Hip-Hop Wired that it’s not true.
