Black Dave rapper and skater dropped a video for his jam “Bout Me” a couple weeks ago. I got the chance to sit down, check it out, listen and watch. I’m new to Black Dave, I heard him when I was attracted to the title of his EP, “Skate Life EP” and have been a fan, keeping a look out for his music since. “Bout Me” is a cool smooth jam where Dave flexes his complex, educated, righteous, flow. The song was produced by Pittsburgh producer Big Jerm. Jerm made quite the ill beat for Dave on “Bout Me”. The sounds he used are dope. The guitar and the flute go together like Mac and Cheese to make a beat that makes me want to light one up and ride with the top down. Dave’s flow on this track is sick, he moves through the chorus so effortlessly with a soft, smooth flow. He drops into his verses with a bit of a harder tone on his rhyming but keeping it laid back and chilled out even when he’s speaking on something you can tell he feels strongly about. The visuals on this are ill. It’s awesome to see Dave skating like the pro he is at times and then rhyming like the emcee that he is at others. Black Dave’s music is definitely one of a kind and unique. I hope to see the dude get more attention.

Overall: 8/10
